Antarctica

It came to me that I really couldn’t call myself a “World Traveler” unless I had been on all of the continents of the world.  And, since Antarctica was the only continent that remained un-visited, it became a priority.   I wanted to go to Antarctica to experience the place (not just to see a few penguins).

Since Joe and I are always looking for a great adventure it seemed only appropriate that we go to Antarctica and attempt to climb it’s highest peak, Mt Vinson.   Neither one of us needed a shove, we committed and went to Antarctica.

It was a truly great adventure.  It was hard core mountaineering at it’s finest.  The people there were simply amazing. Our experiences on Mt Vinson in Antarctica are documented in the book “Exploits of a Common Adventurer” by kent irwin.
