Bicycling Coast to Coast

Cycle America

I first became interested in riding a bicycle when my friend, Jim from work, showed me some photo graphs of an organized bike ride that he went on called the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, better know as RAGBRAI.

The photos were mesmerizing. This RAGBRAI thing looked wild and so fun. Did people actually do those things with bicycles? I knew nothing about road cycling other than the fact that I rode bicycles as a youngster. I began looking for a road bicycle.

Later on, after gaining experience bicycling I joined an organization called Cycle America and cycled from Bellingham, WA to Portland, ME (>6,000 miles) with a group of new friends one summer.
