We had run lots of marathons, climbed many a mountain peak, done tuff mudder races and ridden bicycles on countless long rides, but we came to the conclusion that real men do Ironman Races.
I whined that I couldn’t swim. The response was, “Well, you can learn!”
So…..I took lessons and joined a swim club. I put in the required time. Then, eventually, I became a swimmer – not a good swimmer – just a swimmer who could accomplish the distances required of an Ironman Race.
