Running With The Bulls

According to Wikipedia, The Running of the Bulls (in Spanish encierro, from the verb encerrar, to corral, to enclose) is a practice that involves running in front of a small group of cattle, typically six, of the toro bravo breed that have been let loose on a course of a sectioned-off subset of a town’s streets.

I don’t remember exactly how the whole thing got germinated but one day I recall thinking how cool it would be to actually run with the bulls.  There was no particular light bulb that lit but one day the thought just came to me.

So I started doing research on the topic.  At the time I had no idea where, in Spain this magnificent event occurs or when.  I went on line and watched it on several sites.  I watched it over and over again.  I kept thinking that it was not really that dangerous and that it would be really cool.   The Running of the Bulls, in fact, was an event for me!

Our Running with the Bulls experiences are documented in the book “Exploits of a Common Adventurer” by kent Irwin.
