West Coast Road Trip 2016

It wasn’t the first time that we had taken a motorcycle road trip but it certainly was the longest.  As a matter of fact, the road trip wound up being 39 days and 5,459 miles long!

I’m not sure where the idea came from to tie a motorcycle ride together with a Panama Canal crossing, but it did.  It was great!

The planning of the trip took quite a while. The challenge was to establish hard dates for certain things (i.e. the Panama Canal, Antelope Valley and the Pageant of the Masters) and, at the same time, allow for unplanned weather delays and impromptu, miscellaneous, additional excursions.  But we did.

By and by the West Coast Road Trip came to an end. Riding a motorcycle has been one of our life’s greatest pleasures. Our West Coast Road Trip 2016 adventures are documented in the book “Exploits of a Common Adventurer” by kent irwin.
